A special building in the City of David, used for worship during the First Temple period

An unusual building from the time of the First Temple was uncovered during excavations by the Israel Antiquities Authority in the City of David. A new article, published this week in the Israel Antiquities Authority’s journal ’Atiqot, suggests that the unique structure, which features a row of eight rock-cut rooms, was used for religious purposes and was in use while the Temple stood on the Temple Mount.
