Susa

Susa was an ancient city located in what is now modern-day Iran. It was founded around 4000 BC and became an important center of trade and industry. It was the capital of the Elamite Empire and was later conquered by the Persians. The city is mentioned in the Bible by the name “Shushan” and is associated with Queen Esther. It was an important education center and was the burial place of the prophet Daniel.
