Arwad is a Phoenician port city located on an island off the coast of present-day Syria. In the history of Noah’s sons, the descendants of Canaan are mentioned and among them is the “HaArvedi” (Genesis 10:18). The city is also mentioned in the prophet Ezekiel’s lament over the city of Tyre (Ezekiel 27:8, 11)
